Talking About Selecting Tires and Rims

Hello, I am Matty. When I purchased my car, it had stock rims and bald tires installed. I knew that I would have to change the tires, at least, to improve the safety of my car, especially before driving on wet surfaces. I also decided to upgrade my rims to a more attractive set. The tire installers helped me select the right rims, tires and spacers for my car to improve its safety, stance and overall appearance. I want to help people go through the tire and rim selection process. I will also talk about installation techniques for these parts. Thank you.

2 Ways You Can Recycle An Old Semi Tire

If you have kids and you have somehow managed to get a hold of an old semi truck tire, you may be able to repurpose that tire so that your kids can have some fun and you can keep the tire out of the landfill.

Sandbox

If one of your children is obsessed with cars and trucks, they would probably be thrilled to get to have their very own sandbox made out of a tire. There are a few things that you are going to need in order to make a sandbox, other than the play sand. Those include some exterior paint and some plywood. You will want to paint the inside and outside of the tire after you have cleaned it off really well. You should probably go with a light colored paint so that it doesn't absorb a lot of heat like the black tire would. Once you have given the tire two good coats, you are ready to go. If you are putting your new sandbox down on your yard, you may want to get some wood to put under the tire and the sand, that way you can easily move the sandbox around if you need to. Just make sure that you sand it so that there are no splinters to get in your child's feet while they are playing. You will also want to make sure that you have some plywood to put over the top while your child is not playing in it so that the sand stays nice and clean.

When it is all painted and placed where you want, get some play sand from a home improvement store and then fill it nearly up to the top. You want to make sure that there is room for your child to sit and play in.

Tire Swing

If you have a good, sturdy tree, you can always choose to go with a tire swing. If you have more than one child, you may get a lot of squabbles over who can be on the tire, if you hang it vertically. You can choose to hang it horizontally instead, which will let more than one child play on the swing at once. If you are going to do that, you are going to need to get at least three eyebolts with nuts and washers. Drill three holes in the tire, equidistant apart and then secure the bolts in the holes. Get three equal lengths of chain to put through the eyebolts and connect them at the top with a ring. Then secure some chain to a tree branch and connect it to the ring at the top of the other chains. As soon as everything is secure, you should be ready to swing.

If you have gotten hold of an old semi tire, you can turn it into things your child can play with.
